Awards season in full swing
Awards season for the Guild of Fine Food (GFF) is in full swing, recognising the best tasting food and drink. We’ve been helping GFF to announce Great Taste winners this month. It was a busy start to August with the team sharing this exciting news with the media in the UK and across the World.
Look out for the little black and gold stickers on products in a farm shop or independent retailer near you. If you spot any, don’t forget to tell us by tagging @guildoffinefood and using the hashtag #ispygreattaste.
It’s not long now until the Golden Forks ceremony on Monday 5th of September at Southwark Cathedral. It’s the long-awaited evening where we will discover the Supreme Champion and the International and Regional Golden Fork winners, Anna and AJ will be there supporting the GFF team – ready to write up the results and get them out to the press first thing in the morning.
They will also be popping to see the team at the Great Taste Deli at Specialty and Fine Food Fair on Mon 5th and Tue 6th of September at Olympia.
That’s not all, the team are also preparing for the World Cheese Awards (1st-3rd of November), which is the largest annual cheese-only event, receiving over 4,000 entries from cheesemakers and producers from across the world. It will be attended by 250 cheese experts from more than 35 different countries.
Calling all cheesemakers! Entries are now open until 20 September.
This year the event will be held at the International Convention Centre Wales with the judging happening on Wednesday 2nd November, the event is supported by the Welsh Government.

During the recent heatwave, Christmas may not have been top of mind, but the Sharp team have been ensuring that our clients are in all the key festive roundups. Q Catering hits the big time
Not only has Sharp client Q Catering been expanding their warehouse capacity resulting in an extra 11,600 sq. ft of storage facilities across the site, but they also made national news. Managing director Steve Clarke was quoted in the Daily Express in a recent story about the price of chips being set to soar after potato crops were scorched in the recent heatwave. The piece was syndicated across another 25 titles including the Mail Online and The Sun. A good example of how expert comment, tactically placed, can result in lots of national media exposure.

- We’re delighted to welcome Woolton Farm, home of Kentish Pip, to the Sharp family following the successful PR launch of their new alfresco dining offer, the Saffa Bru, at Woolton Barn earlier this year. We’ve got plenty of stories lined up for the next twelve months to spread the word about their incredible offer, including Kentish Pip cider, Woolton Farm, and Woolton Wines.
