September heralds harvest season and a new raft of innovative supermarket launches. At Sharp, we’re helping lots of brilliant challenger foodie brands some start-ups taking their first few steps and some more established brands, spreading the good news, launching initiatives and products.

Welcome onboard
New plant-based clients joining the Sharp stable this month include:
Seabloom Food – the next generation of delicious, nutritious plant-based seafood, has just launched its Seabloom ‘Tuna-Free’ Flakes, a plant-based ‘Tuna’ alternative made from pea protein and organic Scottish seaweed, on Ocado.
Biff’s Plant Shack – the award-winning homegrown vegan street food brand has hit Sainsbury’s this month. Its retail range, which launched earlier this year in Waitrose, has already proved a hit with vegans and flexitarians alike with easy-to-cook, street food-inspired flavours.
The team is also working on projects with Feisty Foods, producers of Hatari single variety chilli sauces and mashes; plant-based pizza brand One Planet Pizza; and healthy ready meal start-up PrepKing.
Great Taste Finale: The Golden Forks ceremony
The finale of the Guild of Fine Food’s Great Taste 2022 took place at the beginning of the month. Huge congratulations to all the finalists, it’s an incredible achievement to make it to such a high level from a record-breaking 14,205 products blind judged by 500 judges over 90 days.
Extra congratulations must go to Supreme Champion, Kadode Kampot Pepper UK, for its Fermented Fresh Green Kampot Peppercorns, so good you can just eat them straight out of the pack!
World Cheese Awards
The world’s largest annual cheese-only event, the World Cheese Awards which takes place at the International Conference Centre Wales on the 2nd of November. It receives more than 4,000 entries from cheesemakers and producers from across the world and will be attended by 250 cheese experts from more than 35 different countries.
Woolton Farm Cider Festival, 30th September – 2 October
Don’t miss the first ever family friendly Cider Festival at Woolton Farm in Bekesbourne near Canterbury, the home of award-winning Kentish Pip cider. Celebrating the best of local produce, the festival takes place from Friday 30th September to Sunday 2nd October, during peak apple harvest season.
Hosting a range of entertainments from apple bobbing, wine tasting and a Foxwhelp eating competition to live music and DJ sets, there is something for the whole family to enjoy. Tickets available here.
